There are lots of books on productivity, there are lots of websites and articles and videos and all that stuff, that are totally dedicated to productivity, but until you have people who are going to go through it with you for a set amount of time, the bootcamp is 8 weeks. That is an amazing amount of time to build a habit, to get rid of the bad ones, to build the good, healthy ones, and for people to check in with you every day and say “hey, how are you doing? Did you accomplish what you wanted? What didn’t you accomplish? Why? What can you improve? Great, let’s move on and do better tomorrow!” And have that every day during the week for 8 weeks is just an awesome foundation to build off of. So I came back to be a captain because I love what the bootcamp is doing, and through the work that I did in my bootcamp, I realized that my mission statement is to help people overcome their perceived mental obstacles. Looking at what the bootcamp covers, I would say that it’s useful for anybody who has to build habits and deal with email. The term that comes to mind is any sort of knowledge worker, anybody who is outside of a factory, you know, like doing the same menial thing over and over again. Anybody who’s job rests on communication and creativity, and creating these spaces within their day where they need to focus.
