Hey, it’s time for Last Night in the Lowco on WHHI, powered by LowcoSports.com. The USCB Sand Sharks were on the road last night for a key Peach Belt Conference matchup with the Augusta Jaguars, and it was a heart-pounding experience all night long. USCB’s women rallied in the final minute of regulation before pulling away for an 82-70 overtime win to split the season series with the Jaguars and pull within a half-game of league-leading Columbus State, and the men let a 15-point halftime lead slip away before surging down the stretch to sneak away with a 91-90 victory and stay within a game of first-place Lander, which visits the Cove on Saturday. Two of the three head football coach openings in the Lowco have been filled — or soon will be. Colleton County named Bradley Adams its next head football coach on Wednesday. Adams is currently the athletics director at Beaufort High School, but he has been eager to get back to coaching and will get the chance to turn around the Cougars’ program. And Whale Branch is close to making it official with alum Dee Delaney. Delaney was a star for the Warriors and earned All-America honors at The Citadel before finishing his college career at Miami. Delaney appeared in three NFL games over the 2018 and 2019 seasons before playing three seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2021-23. That just leaves an opening at May River HS, and the Sharks are expected to make their choice soon, so we’ll keep you posted on the Lowco Media Network on YouTube. For LowcoSports and WHHI, I’m Justin Jarrett. Until next time, Go Lowco.
