Sounds from the City Episode 6 - Richard Vergez at Mad Arts, May 2, 2024

Episode 6 of Sounds From the City features Richard Vergez. Back in late January Vergez participated in the Ignite Art & Light Festival at Mad Arts. He performed his original concept titled “The Light Pours Out of Me”. For this presentation he implemented a variety of audio, video and lighting elements, while his wife Marcela and friend Ana Mendez joined him with a freestyle dance piece. Since that night Vergez began a residency at Mad Arts, where on a daily basis he has continued to manually turn on all of the elements of the performance, loop them; basically leaving the room on an autopilot setting. The ingenuity, creativity, and dedication involved in putting this room together are a magnificent feat. We met the artist at Mad Arts where he walked us through his process. This exhibition will continue until June 7, with a special closing performance TBA.
