In the storyline, Superman's son Jonathan Kent (Superboy) returns from his schooling in the 31st Century to find his father fighting leviathans from a section of outer space called the Breach - creatures which, in the 31st Century, were said to have killed Superman. The Man of Steel will take flight in a new DC anthology series in 2021 titled Superman: Red & Blue. The six-issue miniseries follows in the footsteps of Batman: Black & White by offering fresh new visions for Superman by paring the comic down to the Man of Steel's signature colors of red and blue. March's Superman: Red & Blue #1 pairs Academy Award-winning writer of DC Future State: The Next Batman John Ridley with artist Clayton Henry to tell a story of Clark Kent as he confronts a villain who still haunts him, in a story that shows what Superman can mean to a whole country. Then, Brandon Eastonand Steve Lieber take readers to the streets of Metropolis to show how one hero can mean so much to an individual in pain. Writer/artist Wes Craig will also tell a tale of Superman's early days and the man who inspired him to become the hero he is today. Plus, Marguerite Bennett and artist Jill Thompson deliver a tale of teenage Clark Kent, while Dan Watters and Dani, the team behind Coffin Bound, bring readers an outlandish fable about what happens when all colors are stolen.
