When you have a small aquaponics system, you still need to have a solids waste filter, or mechanical filter. A way to remove the uneaten food and fish poop ~ if you don't, you'll have massive water quality issues at some point. The typical radial flow settlers and solids separators are a bit too big for small systems, especially those that are only a couple of hundred litres, so here is a video showing you how to build a small, cheap and easy solids filter.
