Since Nov'22 our CEO & MD Sanjay Khimesara (founder of HID & MD Khimesara Institute of Visual Media & Design Pvt Ltd) has been spearheading Asifa India as President. He is travelling across India and volunteer to build community of creators. He has been an pioneers and works for social impact to build community and spread awareness of Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, AR VR across India under Media & Entertainment Sector. Recently Mr. Khimesara was part of Create in India Challenge by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India for World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES)..Asifa invited finalists as well as jury and other global experts for knowledge sessions and three award ceremony for winners of Awards of Excellence. Below is one release dated 30.05.25 in MP- Indore City Indore Experts Played a Key Role in the First World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 Indore, May 30: NGOs from across the country played a vital role in the competition held at WAVES 2025, organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), Government of India, in Mumbai. ASIFA India, supported by UNESCO, successfully conducted competitions in Animation, VFX, and Gaming, contributing to the emergence of new creators for India. The President of the NGO hails from Indore, which is why creators from Indore actively participated in the competition and won 20 awards. Sanjay Khimesara, President of ASIFA India, shared that in preparation for WAVES, the Ministry initiated discussions with veterans of the creative industry a year ago. The summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also visited the specially created “Creatosphere” for the Create in India Challenge and interacted personally with the winners. Over 100 participants from Indore competed in various categories, and more than 20 of them emerged as winners, bringing national and international recognition to the city. During the Create in India Challenge, held over the past 10 months, 1 lakh creative entries were submitted from 100 cities across India and 60 countries worldwide. Of these, 750 finalists were invited by the Government of India to Mumbai for WAVES. Among them, 35 finalists were selected for ASIFA India's WAVES Awards of Excellence, where the best emerging artists, students, and professionals were honored based on jury decisions. Over 20 of these finalists and winners were students, young professionals, and emerging artists from Indore, who proudly represented the city on the WAVES stage. During the subsequent red carpet ceremony, winners were felicitated by luminaries from the film and media industry, along with senior representatives of the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra. ASIFA India President Sanjay Khimesara, who hails from Indore, was specially honored by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for his leadership and contributions. During WAVES 2025, he actively participated in the Create in India Challenge as well as in several masterclasses, panel discussions, and workshops. He also facilitated sessions by inviting global jury members and experts. Noteworthy sessions conducted through ASIFA India and partner organizations included: A panel on "Cross-Cultural Storytelling" A discussion on "Bridging the Gap Between AVGC Education and Industry in the Age of AI" A masterclass by Prodeepto Sengupta of DreamWorks, Hollywood A stop-motion workshop by Dhimant Vyas A digital sculpting workshop by BN Vichar Sanjay Khimesara stated that over the past 10 months, ASIFA India, through WAVES 2025, connected thousands of students and professionals across the country with the Create in India Challenge. The fact that the organization’s leadership is rooted in Indore, and that so many local talents emerged victorious, is a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh. He further assured that continuous efforts will be made in the coming years to strengthen India’s Animation, VFX, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) ecosystem. He has also been actively involved in advocating for a state AVGC policy draft and its implementation to nurture local talent. Through efforts over the past 10 months, ASIFA India has succeeded in positioning Animation as a significant and impactful career option at the national level in India.
