According to the priest, Rangarajan, around 20 individuals barged into his home near the temple premises on February 7 and "manhandled" him. Following his statement, the Moinabad police registered a case and began investigating the matter. MV Soundararajan, convenor of the Temples Protection Movement and Rangarajan’s father, issued a press statement on Sunday, alleging that the assailants were part of a group claiming to be descendants of the Ikshvaku clan. According to him, the group aims to establish Rama Rajya through private armies and punish those "who do not accept their mission or agenda". He further claimed that they had "misunderstood the concept of Constitutional Rama Rajya" and targeted his son because he refused to associate with their movement.
