After a 6 month break from hiking, call me crazy, did 13kg load scaling 1933m Gunung Liang and it almost gotten the better of me. Probably due to the drinks on Friday night, 10K Tempo Run on Saturday & 4 hours of sleep. 4am, Sunday woke up, left for Behrang by 5am. Started the hike at around 640am. My legs beginning to feel lethargic, micro cramps come and go about 1 hour before the East peak 🤦. This where my confidence level almost hit rock bottom feeling defeated. Somehow manage to scoop up some form of reserves and reached East Peak, Mossy Forrest and West Peak. Had a short break, cold fried rice 😂 and a nice warm Oat Cappuccino (brewed fresh using my Moka Pot), for a short period, felt Oh What A Life at 1933m (which is higher than Genting Highlands) 😝😝😝 Cramps still throbbing when we begin the decent, adding salt to wound, it began to rain 🙄. Carefully maneuvering slippery track, braving crossing swollen river, minor land slides, fallen trees and darkness, we managed to get out safely 8+ hours later 😂😂 at around 1130pm. In the end, I would say is was a great experience, though it took a toll on my physical and mental. Yeah!!!
