Afaan Abdul Majid Ansari was lynched to death and his partner severely injured on Saturday, allegedly by cow vigilantes at Nashik in Maharastra. Afaan was brutally assaulted with iron rods and wooden sticks on suspicion of carrying beef in their car. 450kg meat reportedly recovered from the vehicle that was enroute to Mumbai. 11 people have been arrested so far in connection with the case. This is not the first time that India has witnessed such bestial attacks on minorities, unleashed by the cow vigilante sect.
