Semarang - A Random Indonesian City Worth Visiting!

After some spontaneous advice from the ticket office in Yogyakarta, I found myself in Semarang—without really knowing where it was! My first stop? The Old Town, a beautiful area that boasts some of the best-preserved Dutch Colonial architecture I’ve seen, and hands down one of the cleanest spots in Indonesia. I began my walk at the heart of the Old Town, stopping by the iconic Blenduk Church, a stunning landmark that dates back to 1753. Even though there was some construction underway and I couldn’t explore inside, I still managed to get a good look at its charming exterior. Next, I made my way toward the Old Town's entrance and the river, spotting some fantastic sculptures along the road as I stepped outside the historical area. My final stop? The Tay Kak Sie Temple—one of the oldest Chinese temples in Semarang, standing since 1746, where the rich culture of the city truly shines.
