A Fireside Chat with Dominic Genetti

Dominic Genetti is a Sr. Vice President at ExxonMobil overseeing their carbon capture and storage efforts. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemical engineering from BYU. His career has taken him across the globe as he leads teams developing solutions for world sustainable energy and fuel. Most recently, he, his wife, and their children lived in Qatar as Genetti led ExxonMobil there. His 2026 presentation to the students of the BYU Ira A. Fulton College of Engineering was less of a lecture and more of a fireside chat, as Genetti reminisced with a on his time at BYU with a previous professor of his, W. Wincent Wilding, reviewing the crucial foundation his education gave him. He also emphasized the importance of soft skills, being grounded in something outside of yourself, and the learning experiences he had in different parts of his career.
