#scotland #bothy #camping #hikingadventures Welcome to another adventure where my daughter and i stayed in a little cosy bothy called Duror, what an brilliant little cottage to stay in all by ourselves. Glen Duror Bothy - https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/argyl... The Bothy Box Link - • The Bothy Box Fire Fuel carried in - Coal - Kindling - papers - firelighters - matches This area is stunning in winter and probably even better in the Summer months - please don't cut down any trees, there is plenty of brash twigs and rotten wood on the forest floor. A beautiful woodland walk along a forest tracked road then up a path which is fairly easy going. The bothy comes into sight as you come out the forest into the clearing. Plenty candles should be brought to give you light as it can be a dark place. This bothy sleep about 4 people comfy and others may have to sleep on the floor area. A large table allows for a few to cook comfortably. The small water source is not 20 yards from the door please respect it and do not use it as a toilet. Rucksack item - Sleeping bag - https://www.mountainwarehouse.com/ext... Self inflate roll mat - https://www.blacks.co.uk/15979193/ber... Stove - https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15893174... Small pots x 2 Mess tins x 2 Cutlery set for 2 Hot water bottle Water container x 1 2lt Matches plus lighter Drinking cup Heat pad sachets x 4 Trail shot water filter - https://ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/t... Camera equipment Sont Cybershot HD Camera X 3 Batteries Samsung Galaxy s10 phone Power bank for phone Tripod large x 1 Tripod small x 1 Food Packets of flavoured rice x2 Smoked sausage x 1 Custard and Mandarin oranges for pudding Snacks - Sweets Oatcakes Chocolates Nuts Coffee sachets x 6 Porrige Energy bars Clothing Barbour Linhope lightweight jacket Buff neck scarf Jumper Shell sports long sleeve top Gloves Walking/running trousers Walking trousers Sealskin socks Merrell walking shoes Gaiters Spare gloves - socks - top - underwear - Washing kit - toilet bag We managed to collect enough brash and twigs in the forest not far away to keep us going all through the night and the morning. Coal was a great source of heat for the fire. We had a comfortable night sleep , yes it did get colder as the night went on even with the hot water bottles. Very dark in the morning trying to get sorted so take plenty candles. We had breakfast and got sorted packing things away, cleaning the fire and brushing up is a bothy rule. Leaving the place clean and tidy is a must and builds up heat keeping you warm anyway. My daughter Charlie took the footage of the stars in film and photographs so you can checkout her page where she can update you on her camera equipment she uses- Facebook - / cjohnstonphotos Instagram - https://instagram.com/cjphotography10... The snow made it special and to spend the night in the bothy was just amazing, we did have enough food to stay another night in an emergency so always worth carrying just a little extra food just incase. If you think the bothy box is a good idea then drop a comment or any thoughts on it would be great to hear. Thank you for watching the video and hope it has inspired you to get outdoors or try a bothy in the future.
