The year 2026 marks 25 years when all Amtrak Surfliner Cabcars had entered service on Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner rail service between San Diego, California and San Luis Obispo, California via Los Angeles, California, Goleta, California, and many other stops along the way. The cabcars used on the Pacific Surfliner were built by Alstom along with the Pacific Business Class Cars, Coach/Cafe Cars, and Coach Cars as part of a rebranding project with Amtrak California and the state of California to have their own custom paint scheme and new rail service to replace the San Diegan since the old service was merely branded as Amtrak California and used standard Amtrak colors rather than their own custom paint scheme for the service. The new paint scheme for Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner was ocean blue along with platinum mist, grey, and white in order to match the colors of the Pacific Ocean, which could be seen on most parts of the route that the trains travel on. For this video, I have decided to include several clips of all the Amtrak Surfliner Cabcars that I have filmed during my early years of watching and filming trains in the 2010s as well as during my comeback to watching and filming trains in the 2020s. I hope you enjoyed this video, and I'll see you next time for more exciting railroading and non-railroading adventures right here on the YouTube channel. NOTE: The reason why Amtrak Surfliner Cabcars 6902 and 6953 are not featured in this video is because 6902 struck a farm tractor in late 2001 and was scrapped while 6953 struck a semi-trailer truck in late 2023. And even though I do have videos of 6953, I don't have any videos of it leading any trains unfortunately.
