He wrote it, he played the guitar for it, sang on the recording with the group of his high school friends, and he produced it. “To Know Him Is To Love Him” is a Phil Spector song from start to finish! (To know him is to love him, just to see him smile makes my life worthwhile.) When thinking on the words of this song, many relationships could come to mind. Phil says that he got the idea for the song from his own father’s epitaph. His father passed away when young Phil was nine years old. Knowing this song is written by a son to his father makes this song a dear addition to any oldies collection.
