Hello I am Rohit Goswami welcome to my you tube channel Rise Of Journey About video - In this video we will take you to a historical place in Lucknow which is called British Residency associated with the revolution of 1857 If you are going to visit Lucknow then definitely visit this place of Lucknow. The remains of the Residency present a clear picture of the British rule. At the time of the Sepoy Mutiny, this residency was the building of the agent of the East India Company. This historic building is located in the heart of the city near the Hazratganj area. This residency was built in 1800 AD by Nawab Saadat Ali Khan of Awadh. The Residency is currently a nationally protected monument and a morning walk for Lucknowites. The construction of the Residency was started in the year 1780 by the contemporary Nawab Asafuddaula of Lucknow, which was later completed by Nawab Saadat Ali in the year 1800. The Residency used to be the residence of British East India Company officials living in Lucknow, the capital of the Awadh province.
