Join me, the 2 Lane Traveler, for a haunted ride through Tennessee’s backroads. Ghosts in Knoxville, curses in Adams, and the mysterious Room 311 in Chattanooga — history has never been this spooky. Our journey begins in Knoxville, where a nighttime walking tour reveals a city full of restless spirits. We start at the Andrew Johnson Building, where the ghost of Hank Williams is said to wander the halls. Then we visit the First Presbyterian Church and graveyard, home to two ghosts — a little girl and Abner Baker. At the Bijou Theatre, three more spirits are rumored to linger: General William Sanders, Thomas Atkins, and another mysterious little girl. We also stop at the site of the Mabry–O’Conner gunfight on Gay Street (October 19, 1882), explore Knoxville’s Underground City, and end the tour at the old train depot, which once served as a makeshift morgue. Next, we travel west to Adams, Tennessee, home of the legendary Bell Witch — one of America’s oldest and eeriest hauntings. We explore the story of John Bell, his tormented family, and “Old Kate,” the unseen spirit that terrorized them more than 200 years ago. Just down the road, we visit the Bell Witch Cave, where folklore, ghost stories, and history intertwine beneath the Red River bluff. Our final stop is Chattanooga, and the elegant Read House Hotel, said to be haunted by Annalisa Netherly, who met a tragic end in Room 311. We didn’t get to stay in that famous room — it was booked, and well outside our budget — but the old hotel’s marble halls and quiet corners still seem to whisper her name. I didn’t catch any ghosts on camera — but maybe that’s what makes these legends endure. Sometimes it’s not about seeing the ghosts… it’s about feeling the history. 🛣️ 2 Lane Traveler is all about exploring America’s backroads — the diners, motels, neon signs, and small-town legends that make the journey every bit as memorable as the destination. 👉 Subscribe here for more adventures: / @mikethe2lanetraveler 📍 Locations featured in this episode: Downtown Knoxville Ghost Tour – Knoxville, TN Bell Witch Farm – Adams, TN Bell Witch Cave – Adams, TN Read House Hotel – Chattanooga, TN 🎥 Shot and narrated by Mike, the 2 Lane Traveler 📅 Filmed October 2025
