From Constantinople to Belgrade: Redaktsiya’s series about the First Russian Emigration | Episode 1

Today, for the first time in Redaktsiya’s history, we’re premiering a mini-series, which begins in Berlin. A hundred years later, the city once again found itself to be one of the major centers of Russian emigration. Our series is dedicated to the first wave of the emigration which started in 1920 and is often referred to (spoiler: mistakenly so) as the White Emigration. We decided to delve deeper into the topic and study it through the lens of personal stories which revealed a whole lot of familiar and burning issues, from tragedies, comedies and crime to occasional adventurous love affairs.
