Should I show Grave of the Fireflies (1988) to my kids? Well.... My Halloween movie recommendation for the season is the most disturbing movie I've ever seen: Grave of the Fireflies. The honest answer is definitely don't show this movie to your kids, but then who is this animated movie (made by the studio that made My Neighbor Totoro for?) It's hard to say, it's a great film that is very emotionally affecting, with excellent animation, and important themes related to poverty and life in Japan during World War 2. At the same time this animated film is a bit to upsetting to ever want to watch more than once. What do you think of the animated Japanese film Grave of the Fireflies?
