Massive Russian convoy of tanks sent near Kyiv

Russia is closing in on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, having taken out a TV station and sent a 65km-long convoy of tanks to the city. Former Defence Force Chief Admiral Chris Barrie says “all of a sudden” Europe has “awakened” to NATO. “Europe is now taking much more action to deal with the threat to the east; Poland is a member country,” Mr Barrie told Sky News Australia. “And the European Union stands steadfastly behind NATO. “The problem for Putin would be, well there are many problems for Putin, but one of them...Europe in 10 years' time might look very different from Europe today.” He said Europe in 10 years’ time may well be “armed to the teeth” and be ready to defend itself. “If he were to think about moving beyond Ukraine, into other frontline states and even into places like Poland, it will have to be soon rather than later.”
