Kpakio, are conducting assessment tours in parts of Montserrado County. The purpose of the tour is to verify the status of occupants residing on wetlands. The assessment began in the 72nd Community and continues in Johnsonville, Caldwell, and Kings Farm Community where a significant number of houses have been constructed on wetland areas. According to Liberian law, the construction of structures on wetlands is illegal without proper authorization. Wetlands are protected due to their environmental importance, and unauthorized development can lead to penalties, including demolition and legal action.
