PAINTING MY BOAT STEP BY STEP - Using Single Stage Paint - Mishaps And Success In this video I have my Shoalwater Bay boat already derided and start prepping it to paint. The gelcoat was pretty oxidized once again and I decided to shoot it with a paint made by a company Tamco Paints. I used their Duraflint II Series paint which was a single stage 3 part Urethane paint. It is very similar to the OLD Imron paint that used to be around in the 90s. It's a very hard and durable paint and should last the life of the boat. I have used it before but it was a long time ago. I had some mess ups and shot the first coat with a crap gun from Harbor Freight thinking OI could get it tuned in. WRONG! Ended up buying a highly reviewed spray gun called the Black Widow from Spectra. It did a real good job, and actually glad I had to re prep the boat because I was able to get some stuff fixed that was bugging me. So all in all it worked out great! Hope you guys enjoy the video!
