Cuarteto Mundo offers a musical experience that transcends genres and borders, where diverse languages of jazz, world music, and other creative forms of expression converge. The quartet establishes a dialogue between flamenco, Indian music, Mediterranean traditions, Mexican folklores, and other musical heritages. The musicians have solid careers on international stages, having collaborated with jazz and world music luminaries such as Jorge Pardo, Carmen Linares, Dorantes, Hermeto Pascoal, Carles Benavent, Steve Thornton, Omar Sosa, among others. RODRIGO PAREJO – Flutes Rodrigo Parejo is a flutist, composer, educator, and researcher with an extensive international career. He has engaged with various cultures—from Borneo, Africa, Latin America, and India to flamenco tradition, jazz, classical music, electronic music, and contemporary dance—in more than 20 countries. He has collaborated with top-level artists such as Phil Woods, Norma Winstone, Steve Thornton, Alex Sipiagin, Han Bennink, Michael Moore, Peni Candrarini, Bunghar Khan Company, Lázara López “Cachao,” Mao Arata, and Saray Muñoz, standing out for his versatility and ability to interact freely and connect cultures. He graduated with honors in Jazz Performance from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and holds a Master’s in Flamenco Research from the University of Cádiz. He has participated in international festivals such as the North Sea Jazz Festival (Netherlands), Bratislava Jazz Days (Slovakia), Vienna Flamenco Festival (Austria), Ubud Village Jazz Festival (Indonesia), and Rainforest World Music Festival (Malaysia), and is a musician committed to intercultural dialogue through music. ANDREAS ARNOLD – Flamenco Guitar Guitarist, producer, and composer. He has worked with musicians such as Hermeto Pascoal, Carles Benavent, Farah Siraj, Ben Street, Justin Brown, Jean-Michel Pilc, and Antonio Lizana, performing at venues like the Kennedy Center (Washington) and the Blue Note (New York). JAVIER MORENO – Double Bass Double bassist and composer. A graduate of New York University (NYU), he has had a distinguished artistic career, working with musicians such as Dino Saluzzi, George Garzone, Tony Malaby, Craig Taborn, Carmen Linares, Agustín Carbonell “El Bola,” Javier Ruibal, Dorantes, Arcángel, and others, performing at venues like the National Auditorium, Flamenco Festival New York, Jazz Festival Buenos Aires, National Center for the Arts of Mexico, Eurojazz,… CARLOS RONDA – Percussion Percussionist, educator, and composer. He holds a degree in modern percussion from the Liceu Conservatory (Barcelona), with additional studies at the Higher Institute of Arts of Havana (Cuba), among others. He has worked with artists such as Childo Tomás, Omar Sosa, flamenco company María José González, Juan “El Indio” Díaz, and the Jove Orquestra Athenea of Girona. Recently, he founded his own independent label, Sowing Sounds. --- SPANISH Rodrigo Parejo "Cuarteto Mundo" es un proyecto musical del músico transfronterizo Rodrigo Parejo, que teje puentes entre culturas de Oriente y Occidente.
