This young lady had a large mass removed from the top of the ear that could not be closed with simply bringing the skin back together. This video is not meant to teach technique to other surgeons or interested youtubers. A Skin flap is brought from behind the ear, then "through" an opening I made in the ear to the front of the ear. It is used to cover the defect based on the blood supply from the back to the ear. Once it develop its own blood supply in about 2 weeks, it is cut at its base in the back of the ear. And the back to the ear is closed. This patient is now back in college and very happy with her results
