"Macrine's Story" - Endometriosis Advocacy Video

Endometriosis is a serious condition that affects an estimated 10% of women - that’s 176 million women worldwide. It occurs when tissue that normally lines the uterus, grows outside of the uterus on other organs in the body. Endometriosis can cause symptoms including severe pain and irregular menstruation. In this video, Macrine shares her story of developing thoracic endometriosis - which affected her lungs - and her battle to get a diagnosis and to have her health taken seriously. Whilst endometriosis is often a misunderstood condition in most countries, in a country like Uganda it can also have additional misconceptions and stigma.
