As master plumbers we often get called to a job to either install a new mixer tap or replace a #flexiblewaterhose 💧💦that has burst inside a cupboard typically and caused an emergency call out. When we arrive to our customers property to help them with their flexible hose plumbing issues(residential, commercial and industrial), many times we see that a home handyman or a builder has previously performed the plumbing (because plumbing is easy, right?!?!?!?😂). What the person before us has done is put thread tape or teflon tape onto the Male part of the thread sticking out the wall prior to screwing on the flexible water hose on. There is absolutely no need for this, the flexi hose as you will see in this video is designed to connect up water tight without the use of any additional sealant such as thread tape or teflon tape. Without the thread tape you will find the nut on the flexible hose much easier to do up and the first few turns will be easy to do with your fingers leaving the final tightening up to be achieved using an adjustable wrench or some form of spanner, remember not too tight as you will damage the rubber seals. The only thing thread seal is doing is making your life harder by putting more friction between the thread and the nut itself.
