RULES: There are two ways to play, quickplay and classic. For quickplay, the object of the game is to be the first player to score 10 points by completing phases. Shuffle the 32 phase cards and set them facedown as a draw pile. Give each player a tile rack and a set of 5 scoring cards and place them facedown so the logo is faceup, representing zero. Mix up all the tiles facedown in the middle. This area is called the boneyard. Each player then draws 10 tiles from the boneyard and adds them to their rack. Players look at their own tiles but keep them hidden from others. Flip 1 tile in the boneyard faceup. Flip over the top three phase cards in a line so everyone can see them. The youngest player goes first, then play proceeds clockwise. On your turn you must pick 1 facedown or faceup tile from the boneyard and add it to your rack, then you may lay down a phase if you want and are able, then hit, followed by discarding a tile faceup to the boneyard. The phases you can lay down are indicated by the three faceup phase cards, with each’s respective point value written on the card. All phases show you how many tiles you need and which type of tiles are acceptable. Sets are tiles of the same number. Runs tiles in sequential order. Color is tiles of the same color. You are only allowed to make one phase each round. When you do, place the tiles faceup on the table next to you. You must have the entire phase before you can lay down, you may not lay down partial phases. Once you have your phase, update your score pile by flipping to your new total score number. A wild tile may be used to represent any number and color. There is no limit to the number of wilds you can have in a phase, but you must have at least 1 number tile. Once a wild tile has been placed in a phase, its number and color cannot be changed for the rest of the round. Faceup wild tiles in the boneyard may be picked up during the draw phase. Skip tiles cause another player to lose their turn. To use, instead of discarding the tile to the boneyard, place it faceup in front of another player. When their turn is reached, it is skipped and the tile is removed from the game for the rest of the round. Each player may only have 1 skip in front of them at a time. If the first tile flipped over in a round is a skip, then the first player’s turn is skipped and the tile is removed. Skip tiles may never be used in phases. After making your phase for the round, you then need to try and get rid of the rest of your tiles by hitting. Hitting involves placing single tiles onto any face up phase on the table, including your own, that the tile can match to. You are not allowed to hit if you haven’t made your phase yet. You can hit any number of times on your turn. At the end of your turn, discard 1 tile faceup to the boneyard. The first player to play all their tiles then discard one, ends the round and scores a bonus. Remove the 3 faceup phase cards then flip over the top over the top phase card. Whatever the point value of that card is, that player immediately scores. Flip over two more phase cards for the next round. Return all the tiles to the boneyard and another round is played, with the player who went out going first in the next round. The first player to score 10 points immediately wins the game. For the classic rules, don’t use the phase cards, but instead play regular phase 10 except with the tiles and boneyard rules.
