Conaty's Arch Train Underpass Mural at Holywood Esplanade on Belfast Lough

From Tree to Sea Conaty's Arch Holywood Esplanade Here we are out for a ramble from Seapark Cultra walking back along the Holywood esplanade towards the Dirty Duck pub and restaurant. What a pleasant scenic place to be overlooking Belfast Lough. As we dander along we stumble across some colourful murals by Verz Art, ( Tim McCarthy ) on the walls of the subway under the train tracks. The excellent mural paintings show the local wildlife, the local history, the nearby streets, the maypole, and and doggie friends who use the underpass. A helpful educational plaque details how the train underpass, the sea arch, got it's name from a local 1870s Seaside Tavern owning family, the Conaty's. What a super addition to the area. Well done Holywood Residents Association for commissioning Tim McCarthy to historically paint this well known land mark.
