In this first part of our trip to the breathtaking Îles-de-la-Madeleine, we begin our adventure with a 5-hour (and very rocky!) ferry ride aboard the CTMA Ferry from Souris, Prince Edward Island. But trust us—it’s all worth it. We explore the southern part of the islands, starting with an unforgettable sunset at the iconic Cape Lighthouse (Borgot Lighthouse), a must-see spot highly recommended by locals. From there, we settle into our cozy Airbnb on Havre-aux-Maisons before kicking off a full day of adventure. We hike the stunning Butte des Demoiselles, a short but scenic 1-hour trail that offers sweeping views of the surrounding islands. Then it's off to Havre-Aubert for a relaxing afternoon at Sandy Hook Dunes, arguably the best beach on the islands. After working up an appetite, we grab a delicious bite at Au P’tit Capitaine, a charming seaside snack shack, and enjoy our food at the picturesque Point de l’Échouerie. When the weather turns, we switch gears and explore some of the top indoor attractions: Le Fumoir d’Antan – the island’s famous smokehouse Fromagerie du Pied-de-Vent – for incredible local cheese Pâtisserie Hélène des Îles – a must-stop for fresh baguettes (especially in the morning!) This is just Part 1 of our 3-part Îles-de-la-Madeleine series. Make sure to subscribe and stay tuned for more hikes, eats, and hidden gems in this magical archipelago. #travel #îlesdelamadeleine #madeleine #quebec #canadatravel #magdeleineislands #canadaroadtrip #travelvlog #quebecroadtrip #canadavlogs
