E.79 - The Healing Power of Kink with Sawah Danniels

I am a kink knowledgeable, ethical non-monogamy knowledgeable, LGBTQ2S+ knowledgeable counsellor. I went into counselling to serve this demographic because it is an area I am passionate about and believe the community deserves clinicians with lived experience. I am a recent Master of Arts in counselling psychology graduate. My practice is run out of BC, Canada and is currently a mix of online and walk n talk options. I have experience in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, addictions, personality disorders, ethical non-monogamy, kink, relationship anarchy LGBTQ2SIA+, domestic violence, families, and neurodiversity. I have completed Gottman Level 1, conflict resolution training, facilitation training, and attend annual poly, kink, and sex positive conferences, I have completed trainings in STAIR (skills training and interpersonal relationships) and narrative therapy. My modalities include drawing on solution focused therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, narrative, and gestalt; all in a trauma informed practice. I prefer an eclectic approach to helping people that is suited to the client and their needs and goals. I believe that kink can be healthy, healing and generative to relationships of all kinds when done ethically. I am comfortable providing kink support, education and helping you as a client find your footing throughout your journey with kink. I am a gender affirming, polyamorous and kink friendly and will meet you where you are at in your journey, whether it is dipping your toes into exploration, a seasoned kinkster , or working through breaches of trust/kink slip ups. I am comfortable working with individuals, couples, triads and quads.
