HIGHLIGHT. Philippine Ballet Theatre's Singkil at the world premiere of Ibalon in NYC

Awesome Media, Ltd. presents Philippine Ballet Theatre's performance of the Singkil, an elegant royalty dance of the Maranao people in southern Philippines. It involves brisk and stoic dance steps in between the rythmic clapping of bamboo poles. The PBT used ballet dance in the execution of the Singkil at the world premiere of Ibalon in New York City on October 5, 2024, at the La Guardia Performing Arts Center in Long Island City. What could get any better than that! The NYC event was sponsored by the Foundation for Filipino Artists, Philippine Airlines, and Dr. Lestrino Baquiran. Original production and music created by Paulo Zarate and Ron Jaynario. The main dancers are Gabbie Jaynario and Jimmy Lumban.
