Exploring Boston: Government Center to Long Wharf & Harbor Views 🌊🏙️

Join me as we explore Boston’s historic waterfront, starting at Government Center and making our way to Long Wharf—once a bustling hub for maritime trade and now a scenic destination with stunning harbor views. We begin at the Government Center T stop, heading up the escalator and down Court Street, where we pass the New England Center and Home for Veterans—a vital resource supporting those who have served. If you’d like to support their work, consider donating to organizations that assist veterans. 🇺🇸 Next, we arrive at the Old State House, a landmark dating back to 1713. This historic building was once the seat of British colonial government and later the site of the infamous Boston Massacre in 1770, a pivotal moment leading up to the American Revolution. Standing at this corner, you’re quite literally at the crossroads of history. Continuing through downtown, we pass a mix of cafés, restaurants, smoke shops, and towering skyscrapers, eventually reaching the waterfront. Long Wharf, built in the 1700s, was originally Boston’s primary commercial port, extending much farther into the harbor than it does today. Now, it’s home to ferries, tour boats, and plenty of great spots to take in the views. We cross through the Rose Kennedy Greenway, a beautiful urban park created after the Big Dig project, before reaching the Aquarium Blue Line station. Near the waterfront, we pass the Boston Harbor City Cruises Ticket Center, where visitors can catch ferries to the Harbor Islands or hop on the high-speed Codzilla boat for an adrenaline-packed ride across the waves. 🚤🌊 The walk takes us past the historic Chart House, one of Boston’s oldest restaurants, which is known to experience flooding during king tides. We also spot some beautiful sailing vessels and harbor cruise boats before ending our journey at Long Wharf, taking in the scenic beauty of the Boston skyline meeting the harbor. 📌 Have you ever taken a ferry or harbor cruise in Boston?
