Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate - Solo Grandmaster Conquest Whisper Completion w/ Tier 5 Loot Rewards - Conqueror GM Nightfall Replacement Activity. Just a video showing a solo clear of the grandmaster version of The Whisper in the Conquests tab. Details and thoughts below. This one felt a little better to run, and probably even easier than Inverted Spire. But it's disappointing being available only once per season and adding little to no variety to the conqueror node. At the moment there's only 2 GM conquests, and I don't know what timegated conquests remain. I'm assuming there's more considering it says we need to do "6 conquests at grandmaster difficulty", but what we can see right now isn't enough. I hope these are improved going forward. I also know you could effectively replicate these by setting up your own set of modifiers, but at that point you have to ask - what's the point of any difficulty level outside of each end of the spectrum? If you're farming, you want the easiest and quickest way to get the highest tier rewards. If you're aiming for the challenge, then you want the maximum possible handicap to make it "challenging". If you're in the middleground, it feels like you're taking away from either the efficiency or challenge, so it feels counterintuitive. From my perspective, I've already done the self-imposed challenges over the years, whether it be all white gear, -99 power, no damage taken, etc, and unfortunately they've proven to be some of the least engaged with and least helpful content to people I've posted. So I feel there needs to be some level of consistent, rotating and curated content, akin to the prior GM nightfalls, or even conquests but they're not one and done, and many more of them. Not everything can rely on the customisable difficulty in the game going forward. I don't mean to sound repeatedly negative as of late either, it comes from a place of wanting the game to be better. I feel like there's a lot of positives overall, and the fundamental changes are both healthy and much needed to the game. I actually quite enjoyed the campaign, even though I know people grew tired of the ball mechanic. The new armour and stat system is also great, outside of making some stat setups impossible unless you farmed before the expansion. I think having something to constantly grind and progress towards is also good, just not in the way they've implemented it to be "farm 1 solo op 500 times to 400" and then "farm 5000 solo ops to RNG prime engrams to 450". Nor should you be locked out of nearly everything in the game until you reach an arbitrary power level, let people suffer and take those on early if they want. And if they do overcome a massive power deficit, give them a massive power reward as a result. The system could've been so much more engaging if it appropriately rewarded you for playing different activities too. There's no reason why they couldn't make it if you complete one portal activity, you get 2-3 guaranteed bonus engrams in different activities every time. Make one of those a specific piece of loot, and the other 1-2 simply bonus loot. Make those bonus loot drops actually +3 or +4 power, instead of the current "at level" drops that are mostly useless. This would make it so you're actually rewarded and encouraged for playing anything other than the fastest activity. Positive modifiers shouldn't take away from your score either, as it'd balance out against the times you're stacking a whole bunch of negatives to reach a higher score, and make them more tolerable or enjoyable. Kepler could be so much better if higher tiers were actually rewarding for the power grind, and there was constantly mini-bosses and little events around the destination from simply exploring. There's no reason why mythic campaign missions shouldn't shower you in t4/t5 loot with powerful upgrades consistently. The sieve could even be decent if it didn't become completely useless after 300 power, and even before then the power level increases were quite small. There's just a lot of baffling decisions that have gone alongside good fundamental changes which are disappointing, and a lot of things I haven't even touched on here. I just hope they can take the overall feedback to make the game what it should be. DIM loadout: https://dim.gg/ggms3gi/SoloConquest-G...
