business inquiries 💌 : nicolelee8532@gmail.com When I was young, love only existed in movies, Disney princess stories, and pretty dresses. I loved the princesses—not because of romance, but because they were brave, strong, and honestly… looked amazing. Dating felt like something only adults did. “Crushes” were just playground teasing, name-writing on blackboards, and pure embarrassment. Growing up, I had a few crushes—some quiet, some awkward, some that never went anywhere, and some that ended before they even really started. I was always the passive one, the “beidong” type: never confessing, never making the first move, pretending to be nonchalant while overthinking everything. When I finally tried to be brave in university and gave myself a chance, it led to a sweet night walk, holding hands… and then getting ghosted. So here I am, at 20, never had my first kiss, never rushed anything just for the sake of it, and still believing that “firsts” should mean something. Watching couples everywhere on campus makes me wonder: how do relationships actually work? Are people with many relationships more experienced—or just more willing to try? Am I picky, or just careful? Selfish, or just focused on becoming myself? Some people say you must date in university because these are the “best years of your life.” But I don’t really believe the best years have an expiry date. Maybe every year can be the best year of your life—if you’re living it honestly. In this episode, I talk about crushes, timing, choosing not to rush, and learning to be okay with moving at your own pace in a world that keeps telling you you’re late.
