Day 6 - ProCigar 2025: La Aurora Cigars & Gala Dinner Party

🌱 We set out for the final tour of the festival at 10 AM with a ride out to La Aurora’s Jacagua farm. In an impressive show of efficiency and innovation, the La Aurora team had us design our own cigar boxes via an app on our phone during the drive out to the farm. Jacagua is the farm where La Aurora grows tobacco for the 120th Anniversary cigar. Michelle León, the family’s 4th generation in the business, welcomed guests while industry veterans Leoncio Cruz and Miguel Contreras led the tour. Afterwards, Manuel Ynoa ran us through a component tasting seminar in order to blend our own La Aurora. When we headed back to La Aurora’s factory, we received our blends in our custom boxes, it was a perfectly executed, short version of the Cigar Institute Experience by La Aurora. We had a richly flavored Dominican goat stew as well as chicken skewers with cassava and rice. It was a memorable and educational way to wrap up the ProCigar tours. 🤩 Gala Dinner Party & Auction Dominican star presenter Gabi Desangles opened the show with a Chicago-inspired number, then transitioned into show-host. New ProCigar members, Mel Caribbean and Kelner Cigars were introduced before turning the show over to the auction. Raquel Quesada and Michael Herklots led the action and raised $500,000 for charity. After dinner, the gala turned into an epic party to celebrate the closing of the 17th ProCigar Festival.
