India hosted its third International Fleet Review (IFR) 2026 in Visakhapatnam, with President Droupadi Murmu overseeing one of the largest naval showcases in the country’s history. With participation from 72 countries, including the United States, Russia, Iran, and several Western and Indo-Pacific partners, the event highlighted India’s doctrine of strategic autonomy. Nearly 19 foreign warships joined dozens of Indian Navy platforms, including INS Vikrant, destroyers, submarines and the Deep Submergence Rescue Vessel (DSRV). Senior Assistant Editor Sanjib Kr Baruah reports from Visakhapatnam.
