Breath of Fire 2 was one of my core childhood games. When I was about 8, one of my Dad's old high-school students was getting rid of some games and passed them on to me and my older brother. My first memory, ironically, was booting up his un-deleted save file at the end of the game and not understanding why Deathevan was invincible! When we started a new save file and played through together, it probably took us about a year to beat because we were kids, the game was hard, and it took us forever to figure out simple things like meeting Rand at the cafe, getting to Windia through the labyrinth with Nina, and navigating the frog castle with Jean. Ever since I started doing little Garageband MIDI arrangements in high school, I have always wanted to re-orchestrate various BOF2 songs, and banged out many lackluster arrangements when I was first learning. In 2023, being 4 years out of college with a music degree and having much more experience, I finally committed to doing every single track. Now I have the entire covered OST to show for it!
