I am passionate about two things in Life, Endoscopy and the AAGL. I envision the AAGL to be the Richest Pool of knowledge in the remotest areas of the world. This can be brought about by having a global approach but delivered in a country centric manner. Regional conferences do benefit the region, but the less privileged can still not reach them, so having a country centric approach will go a long way in reaching every nook and corner of the world. This could be achieved by AAGL Satellite Workshops and identifying more centers for International fellowships. With this vision for the AAGL, I wish to introduce myself as a dynamic laparoscopist, practicing in Northern India, close to Delhi. In a pursuit to promote safe laparoscopic surgery I came out with seven text book on various aspects of laparoscopic surgery viz. Atlas of laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, Atlas cum text book on suturing, Atlas on Pelvic Floor Repair, a Hand book and a Video Atlas, and, two of them having Second Editions. The emphasis was to bring global expertise together in an easy learning format. To be read by more physicians they were further translated into Spanish & Chinese. Being fond of innovations, I am a Member of Governing Council of ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research). I promoted “1, 2 and V” technique of Laparoscopic Suturing while being faculty and Co-Chair of suturing course, at the AAGL, Middle East and Turkish Society meetings. I have innovated a safe laparoscopic entry point in previous surgery cases, “Jain Point” or “Left lateral Port”. We conduct Training’s, Webinars & fellowships very regularly and fellows of our institution are serving humanity by further practicing skillful laparoscopy in their regions. I have done more than 100 live operative Workshops including the one we relayed to the 46th AAGL Global Congress. Apart from endoscopy, I am passionate about Yoga and love to promote it by being associated with organizations that are forerunners in the field. Being nominated for the AAGL Board of Directors is a great honor. I would love to contribute and to represent Asia Pacific Rim.
