Iran’s Foreign Minister Slams Israel Amid US Nuclear Talks

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has criticised Israel, calling its regional strategy a “doctrine of domination” that allows Israel to expand its military capabilities while pressuring neighbouring countries to disarm. His remarks come just days after renewed indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the United States in Muscat, which both sides described as positive. The June 2025 conflict, triggered by Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets, including military officials and nuclear sites, led to a 12-day war. Iran responded with drone and missile attacks against Israel and strikes on a US military base in Qatar. The recent Muscat talks aim to address issues related to Iran’s nuclear programme, ballistic missiles, and regional security concerns. In a separate development, Pakistan and Uzbekistan strengthened their economic partnership during a high-level business forum. Leaders from both countries highlighted growth in bilateral trade, the signing of USD 3.4 billion in private-sector agreements, and plans to reach a USD 2 billion trade target over the next five years. Initiatives include investment facilitation, expansion of flight services, and a ten-year tax exemption for Pakistani traders in Uzbekistan.
