Tyres are one of the most crucial components of your motorcycle in the sense they transfer all of your inputs - acceleration, braking, and direction changes on onto the tarmac. Thus maintaining the right tyre pressures can improve your riding experience. Running lower tyre pressures than the recommended won't do you much good unless you are riding heavily off the road. On the flip side, higher pressures won't help you either. Almost all motorcycles have manufacturer recommended pressures calibrated for an average rider or rider and pillion.
