Christian Lee Hutson - Beauty School (Music Hall of Williamsburg, NYC 9/30/24)

Christian Lee Hutson celebrated the release of his newest album "Paradise Pop. 10", which came out a few days earlier, with an intimate show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. I did not get a chance to listen to the album yet but I've seen him live before and enjoyed his shows. Also my friend mentioned that he heard Phoebe Bridgers soundchecking earlier. That solidified my decision to go. Christian played through the album in it's entirety and there wasn't a single song i didn't like. It speaks for how well an album is and how confident the artist is about the quality of the record to do that. Phoebe also performed a handful of songs on stage with the band. She was dressed in a black robe and was mostly hidden but I think it worked as to not draw so much attention. I will be picking up a copy of Christian's record tomorrow at his Rough Trade performance and signing as the album was amazing start to finish from what I heard live. Also this complete a boygenius run with Lucy Dacus appearing on Silk Chiffon Saturday, Julien Baker playing a set on Sunday, and then today Phoebe Bridgers. Oh what a month this has been.
