112 DRUG SHOPS CLOSED, 180 BOXES OF DRUGS IMPOUNDED BY NDA IN A TARGETED OPERATION IN THE NORTH

NDA Targeted Operations Officials from National Drugs Authority have closed 112 drug shops in Northern Uganda in a targeted operation on non-compliant operators. 180 boxes of assorted medicines were also impounded including Government drugs. Meanwhile at Busia border a bus was impounded with smuggled drugs. Ambience Drugs amounting to over 45m have been impounded in Northern Uganda in a targeted operation conducted by officials from the National Drugs Authority. At least 112 drug shops were also closed in the same operation. A box containing government drugs allegedly stolen from a health center in Kole district was found in a drug shop in Alebtong District. NDA also warns the public from seeking clinical services from the drug shops. Meanwhile at Malaba Border NDA impounded seven buses with smuggled drugs. NDA however, informs those whose drugs were impounded for noncompliance to visit the regional offices for guidance.
