Boys Of Summer (Instructional video)

This is my keyboard cover of Don Henley's "Boys of Summer". It's a pretty easy tune on keyboard. There appears to be more than one keyboard on the original track, so I've had to sacrifice some of the added embellishments for the sake of playing the main part. The "seagull" sound during the bridge is a sample of me using a slide in a downward manner on the upper register of my electric guitar. I'm not sure if this is how it is played on the original recording, but it sounds like it. The guitar plays some arpeggiated chord licks during the chorus of the song, but my guitarist has been focusing on singing, lately, so I have adapted the keyboard to mimic the guitar during that part. You'll notice that the 5 fingers of my right hand don't come off the keyboard much during the chorus. This is so that I can get a "legato" effect with the notes...where they all sort of blend into one another. This song has a lot of textured keyboard, with limited "quiet" time. So, I try to make sure all the space is filled in.
