Manual Vehicles require clutches as a critical component to transmit torque from the engine to the wheels. Typically, a clutch design is determined by manufacturers for each vehicle model. However, replacing a worn-out clutch can be both costly and challenging. Finding a suitable clutch kit for a modified vehicle becomes more complex as traditional heavy-duty clutch kits come with compromises. Often in a traditional heavy-duty clutch upgrade, the pressure plate diaphragm spring stiffness is increased, therefore increasing the clamping force on the clutch disc when actuated. As a result of doing this, it can compromise the pedal feel, making the clutch heavier to operate, placing higher stress on the vehicle’s actuation system, and ultimately making the vehicle less pleasurable to drive. This compromise can also lead to engagement issues, reduction in clutch operating life and, in more extreme cases, total failure of the clutch actuation system. What is the UniClutch?
