-- talk held at MaMa (Zagreb), January 25, 2013 -- Digital Arts & Media Networks contexts provide endless number of breaks with off-line and analogue logic. There is much to clarify to abolish mystifications of these phenomena. Mapping on what is to be learned, off what to be informed is urgent matter for contemporary netizens. Josephine Bosma's exposition will include presentation of some of the phenomena related to net art and its critical reading. Josephine Bosma is a theorist and critic from the Netherlands. Her work focuses on art in the context of the Internet: what does the Internet do to art, and what do artists do with the Internet? This field is also known as net art. Bosma opposes the tendency to narrow the discourse around net art to particular practices only, such as to art made for the Web or to art that is anti-institutional. Net art, she argues, encompasses much more. It is transition from the contemporary art field from an industrial sphere to that of an information society. Bosma has followed the development of art in the context of the Net since 1993. http://www.JosephineBosma.com/
