The Oubliette - History's Most Brutal Torture Method?
In this short video, we explain one of history's most brutal torture methods. Found in Castle's and in many medieval dungeons, is the Oubliette. These dungeons would act as the final resting place for many of the prisoners unlucky enough to be found here. The Oubliette was a tiny confined dungeon in which there would be no method of escape. The term 'Oubliette derives from the french term, 'to forget.' Prisoners would be given no food and were just forgotten. Sometimes the punishment would continue with the Oubliette being half flooded and filled with rats and the remains of the previous prisoner. Thanks for watching!
