In Knuckles Chaotix prototype 0119, the Player/Combi Select Menu had the full roster of characters in the game available in a placeholder carousel-based menu (Knuckles, blank spot for Wechidna, Mighty, Espio, Charmy, Vector, Bomb, and Heavy, in that order counterclockwise). In the final version however, Wechidna, Bomb, and Heavy were all dropped from that menu, due to the fact that Wechidna got scrapped and since Bomb and Heavy were meant to be selected only as bad prizes in the World Entrance's Combi claw game. Unused data still exists in the final Player/Combi menu for Bomb and Heavy menu character slots, and an extra Mighty character ID for an ID LUT (probably once meant for Wechidna). Excluding Wechidna character, this unused menu data includes Bomb/Heavy: *Objects type IDs (for the menu character graphics) *Entries in a LUT to convert between 0-based row menu ID and corresponding character ID to apply *Display strings for the characters' names With some minor assembly hacking (extending some loops for the menu LUTs from $04 to $06 0-based entries, max menu navigation to $06 rows), the beta support for Bomb and Heavy as accessible characters in the Player/Combi menu can be restored! Due note that all characters in this menu play their idle animation; since Heavy and Bomb do not have animation frames in their idle animation, they appear here as static. (You can also ignore the crash when loading World Entrance zone, since this restoration is put into Knuckles Clackers ROM hack, which is having some issues with the zone atm while experimenting with other stuff. This doesn't happen in the vanilla ROM when restoring the beta functionality.)
