Our reporters travel to Afghanistan to find out what life is like under Taliban rule. In a small village in the rural province of Maidan Wardak, they meet Dr. Roshanak. She used to be a member of parliament and always worked to maintain cordial relations with the Taliban. In the capital Kabul, our reporters spend time with Aisha, who used to work for a UN project and dreamed of a career in politics. Now she feels “like a prisoner”. They also meet the desperate potters of Istalif, whose business crumbles under the worsening economic crisis. And they encounter members of the Taliban who blame the West for hunger and poverty.
