Making Aluminium Bronze Ingots from Scrap Copper Pipe

This week I am making a couple of aluminium bronze ingots from some scrap copper pipe I had lying around and a few chunks of aluminium. This aluminium bronze is 95% copper and 5% aluminium by weight. To make this aluminium bronze I used 6650g of scrap copper pipe and 350g of aluminium. I'm using my 2 large steel ingot moulds to make two big ingots. Unfortunately whilst trying to set up a nice close up shot of the pour, I overheated the camera and missed the money shot. I did manage to get a nice shot of the molten metal beforehand though. The ingot that I polished turned out really well. I didn't get time to polish the large ingot as it was getting late. Playing with molten metal can be dangerous, so don't try this at home etc etc etc. No seriously.... Hope you enjoy the video, even without the money shot.
