Scenic backroads drive in 4K: Virginia to North Carolina US 501 & Route 96 - South Boston to Oxford

Here's a great drive on mostly 2-lane byways that takes you through a rural area of Virginia and North Carolina. It's a good route to take if you're trying to avoid the interstates and all the traffic around Durham and Raleigh, North Carolina. The drive begins in South Boston, Virginia, and follows US 501 for a while, before turning off on Virginia Route 96. At the town of Virgilina, you cross into North Carolina, and onto NC 96. The drive continues on to Oxford, North Carolina. I made this trip around Labor Day weekend 2022.
