On early Friday morning, a man was found lynched to death and tied to a police barricade at the Singhu border where farmers are protesting against the farm laws. The deceased also had a hand and foot cut off. The Nihang Sikhs took responsibility for the killing and hours later, Nihang Saravjeet Singh, surrendered before the police. Saravjeet told police he killed the man for allegedly desecrating his holy text. Since the incident, the Nihang Sikhs have been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
